Dr. de Guzman is a board-certified and fellowship-trained Glaucoma and Cataract surgeon. He was born in Chicago and raised in Grayslake, IL. He attended college at Marquette University. He attended Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Ophthalmology residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens, NY, where he served as Chief Resident in his final year. He further obtained his Glaucoma subspecialty fellowship at The Storm Eye Institute of the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.
Dr. de Guzman is passionate about enhancing and preserving the vision of his patients. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

Dr. Melchionna has been serving the Chicagoland community for 30+ years. Under his leadership, he has been instrumental in growing Simpson Eye Physicians & Surgeons into the multi-location, multi-specialty practice it is today.

Dr. Romaniv is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago. She then obtained her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Afterwards, she studied intraocular lens designs as a research fellow at the University of Utah before completing her Ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.

Dr. Hussain is a born and raised Chicagoland-native. He completed his undergraduate and medical education in an accelerated 7-year program at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. He was honored with inductions into both the Phi Beta Kappa Society and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society while there.
Dr. Hussain completed his residency training at the Indiana University School of Medicine, serving as the Chief Resident his final year. He completed two fellowships in ophthalmic pathology and vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, which has been recognized as the nation’s #1 eye hospital over the past three decades.
Dr. Hussain has authored over 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He is excited to continue contributions in clinical trials assessing new therapies for retinal disease.

Dr. Cohen’s mission is to bring a smile to his patient’s faces whenever they look in the mirror. He specializes in restoring beauty and function to the face and eyes. Dr. Cohen is experienced in fixing beauty issues that can arise with age, or from a medical condition, such as drooping eyelids, skin cancer removal, and turned-in / turned-out eyelids.
Dr. Cohen has been practicing for over 20 years. He attended Brooklyn College for his undergraduate degree, and then attended medical school at Albany Medical College, followed by internal medicine training at the Staten Island University Hospital.
He further continued his training at Nassau County Medical Center for residency, and later for advanced training in oculoplastic orbital surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology.
He is fellow at the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American College of Surgeons.
